Katherine Gatza contributes on many levels at JS Creative, from mentor to art director to account manager. She joined our firm as a designer in 2004, but now leads the national advertising and marketing team for Primrose Schools, one of our largest clients. This work involves research, strategy, planning, design and relationship management- all skills that Katherine has in spades.
She came to us after serving as an in-house designer at Philips, where she worked on the Philips Consumer Electronics brand. This career stop gave her valuable insight into the client mindset and also provided her with broad experience in concept and design for collateral, ad campaigns, signage, packaging and logo development. She is well-versed in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash and Dreamweaver.
Katherine graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art. She also was awarded the distinction of “With Honors,” which required completing a body of work and defending it against a panel of her professors.
She went on to attend the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, where she studied graphic design and illustration. While in school, Katherine’s work won several Portfolio Center student awards, a Show South merit award and was published in the 2001 edition of Graphis New Talent.
Beyond her talents in graphic design, Katherine also creates a line of unique,hand-made jewelry. She has less time for jewelry making these days as the mother of two young daughters, Elizabeth and Anna, who have completely dethroned their furry siblings, Joe P. and Blue.
