A second grade teacher was the first to spy Erin’s gift of illustration, selecting the youngster to craft a thank-you note for a class trip to a local dairy. But it was Erin’s high school art teacher who nudged her to pursue graphic design as a career, a suggestion that the JS Creative team concurs with wholeheartedly.
Before entering college, Erin won the prestigious Gibson Greetings Art Scholarship in recognition of her work in acrylic painting, and she was selected as Cincinnati’s top high school art student in the field of visual arts with the Cincinnati Overture Award.
She joined JS Creative in 2007 following career stops in Baltimore and Cincinnati where she built her portfolio with package design, point-of-purchase displays, Web sites and advertising for a number of large companies.
Erin received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cleveland Institute of Art where she earned prestigious kudos for her work, including the American Greetings Endowment Scholarship and the Willard W. Combs Memorial Scholarship for Illustration. Her fifth year thesis project involved writing and illustrating a children’s book, something she hopes to do professionally one day. She also continued her studies in graphic design at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.
Erin’s early years were spent in New Jersey, Chicago, Florida, Hawaii, and North Carolina as her father pursued his career as a Navy pilot. When he began flying for Delta Air Lines, the family put down roots in Cincinnati, which she calls her hometown.
